Windows Live Messenger Folder Trash is full

Hi guys,

I am at the office using Windows Live Messenger to check on my emails, in the middle of my work an error message appeared on my screen. It is telling me that, "The folder Trash is full, and can’t hold any more messages."

Below is the screen shot of error:

The folder Trash is full, and can’t hold any more messages. To make room for more messages, delete any old or unwanted mail and compact the folder.

As I am analyzing the error above, it's true that I have a lot of messages, so, I clean it up. To have only the important messages saved, while on my process of deleting I cannot delete the old messages, it seems there is another problem coming in. My question now is, is it a wise decision to remove and reinstall Windows Live Messenger and how to save my old messages?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have read the problem you are facing and I think I can solve the issue. As I can guess you are probably using “Yahoo” or “Hotmail” as your primary mail. If I am correct then I would suggest you to re-open your mail and don’t open your messenger. Now the first thing you have to do is go to your trash folder and select all the unnecessary mails which are there and mark them. If you have finished marking them then go to the option “Actions”, you will find it on the top of your list. After going there please select the option “Delete” from there and click it. This will delete all the files you have marked from your trash folder. This will definitely increase the size of your trash and you won’t get the trash error from next time.

Please repeat this step whenever you see your trash bin is full so that you can keep your trash bin clean and empty. The messages in the trash bin usually get automatically deleted after 10-14 days. So, don’t take tension about this and follow the procedure I have mentioned. I hope this procedure will definitely solve your problem.

Thank You.

Hi,

Your problem is quite simple here is a solution for that.

Go to the trash folder and then select all the undesired data that you have trashed in it and then most probably delete it. It is not one of the most convenient solutions but i think with the help of it you must get your job done. So, in future whenever you face such an error with your trash folder repeat the steps I have mentioned in my solution.

Hope you fix your small problem.
