Well, this is a genuine and common problem with the windows 7 and windows visa probably. It so happens when you turn on your device, and the windows resume loader error suddenly appears as a black pop-up window on your display, and your keyboard does not work following the ongoing process. So, to overcome this issue you have to follow some of these following steps-

A) Continue with the system resume and remove the restoration data before going to the system boot menu.

But you have to delete the restoration data only if the system doesn’t resume after continuing to it. It occurs due to unexpected shut down of windows especially when it is in the hibernation mode. So, firstly you have to start windows by continuing to the system resume and if it does not help in any way, then delete the restoration data so that the corrupted files due to the unexpected shut down gets removed, and your system can resume.

This problem with the resume loader can happen on Windows Vista and Windows 7. The problem happens on startup and then the black “Resume Loader” screen appears.

Resume Loader screen
Resume Loader screen

One possible cause why this screen appears is when the computer suddenly shuts down due to power failure or other problems especially when the computer is in hibernation mode. The next time you start the computer, the system will try to use the resume loader to return from hibernation and tries to load the hibernation file called “hiberfil.sys”.

If the file is corrupt due to the power failure, this is when the black resume loader screen appears. You can select between the two options. If the first one doesn’t work, try the other one. Sometimes when you see this screen, there is nothing you can do because the keyboard is frozen. The two options seem to be useless because you can’t even navigate between them.

When this happens, one workaround is to restart the computer and go to the BIOS. Restart your computer then press DEL, DELETE, or F2 to go to the BIOS. In the BIOS, look for the peripherals section and find the option for the USB keyboard. Make sure the USB keyboard is enabled and not disabled. Save the settings and exit the BIOS. See if this works.

If this doesn’t work, turn off your computer but don’t unplug it from the power. Wait about 10 to 20 seconds then turn it on again. See if this works. If this doesn’t work either, turn off the CPU and remove the CMOS battery for a minute or two and then put it back. See if this works.
