I am trying to close Microsoft excel but I am continuously getting the error saying cannot quit Microsoft excel. Please help me with this problem. Thanks in advance.

This problem could arise because of multiple reasons like:-

  1. Because of invalid input in cell
  2. File is attempting to open
  3. Visual basic micro might be running in step mode
  4. A dialog box might be open behind excel

You can wait for sometime for all the pending operations to finish. Else try closing the visual basic editor or press Ctrl+alt+del to end the task.
