Hello, experts, I am getting an installation error while setting up Microsoft visual basic 2010 on my system. Kindly provide the solution for the fixing of the error. I am currently working Windows7.
Step1. Open start menu and select to Control panel.
Step2. Go to Administrative Tools and then services.
Step3. At the bottom of the page check for Windows Update.
Step4. Right click.
Step5. Select stop.
Step6. Navigate to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.
Step7. Empty the folder SoftwareDistribution.
Step8. Now enable the Windows Update.
Step9. To see any updates run Windows Update.
I think you are referring to Microsoft Visual Studio and not Visual Basic. Anyway, before installing any application, make sure your computer meets the requirements.
For Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, it supports Windows XP (32-bit only), Windows Vista Service Pack 2, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, and Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit only) both 32-bit and 64-bit. This applies to Premium and Ultimate editions of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. It does not install on Windows 8 because it is not supported.
If you have Windows 8, install Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 instead. It supports Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows 8.x both 32-bit and 64-bit. For servers, it supports Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2012, and Windows Server 2012 R2 all 64-bit only.
It requires 1.6 GHz or faster processor, 1 GB RAM, 5 GB free space, and Microsoft DirectX 9-compatible video card at 1024 x 768 minimum screen resolution.
