Hi, I own a LaCie external hard drive which control panel shows up but does not appear as any drive in Windows Explorer. Can anybody fix my LaCie external hard drive not recognized?

First try opening Disc management and do a detected check, then follow these

steps: 1. Click on Start button and open Computer Management, clicking Control Panel

  • System and Security
  • Administrative Tools
  • Computer Management. Type the password if prompted for confirmation.

2. Click on Disk Management. If it the hard drive is recognized in the disc management and doesn’t appear, right click on the drive.

Change Drive Letter and Path.

2. You can also perform any one form below:

• To add a new drive letter, click on Add, click the letter to be used, and later click on OK.

• To change a drive letter, click on Change, followed by clicking on Assign the following drive letter, click the letter to be used, and then click on OK.

• To remove a drive letter, click on Remove, followed by clicking on Yes to confirm.
