I am finding a hard time installing the Adobe Reader 9.3 as I am slapped with an error message which is shown below:

Adobe reader 9.3 Installer Information

Error 1606. Could not access network location 0,

In the Installer Information an error 1606 pops out and unfortunately I cannot gain an entry into the network location.

My dear friends who are highly-skilled with this please shed some light on this matter.

Hello Robert,

The following workaround should help you to resolve that issue:

  • First, you will need to uninstall adobe reader: Go to add/remove programs and uninstall it from there.
  • Second, move your personal folders.
  • And then reinstall Adobe Reader.

You will also need to check the registry for any conflicts regarding the new location.

Hello Robert

I am familiar with this error and I might be able to help you fix this issue.

What you must do, is go to Start, and in the search box, type regedit. Open the Registry Editor, and in there go to the following location

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerUserShellFolders. In that folder, look in the right panel, and search for a file named "Recent". Right-click on it, and delete it.

Reboot your PC after all this is done and install Adobe Reader without encountering any problems.

I hope you will find this information useful.
