Hi.

I failed to install Windows 7 64bit Professional on my newly configured PC.

And I am getting the following error while installing.

This is the image of error:

My specs:

  • AMD FX8120 8 core CPU
  • ASRock Fatality 990FX motherboard.
  • 8 GB ram
  • Corsair Force 60GB SSD

I have searched Google for suggestions, and I don't think this is a hardware issue.

Can anyone give me any idea?

Thanks in advance.

You need to perform a Custom Install of Windows 7.

To do that, follow these steps:

  1. Insert the installation CD in your drive. If setup doesn't start automatically, search the setup.exe file on the drive and run it.
  2. On the Install Windows, click on Install Now.
  3. Get updates first before completing the installation. Your computer needs to be internet connected at this time for it to be able to get the updates.
  4. Accept the license terms, after that select Custom.
  5. Choose the drive that holds your OS, usually the C: drive.
  6. Click ok on the windows.old dialog box.
  7. Continue to install Windows 7.

If you're still having problems installing Win 7, you can check out this site for more tips:

Hope that helps!

You have to change CD Rom interface to IDE before Starting up your VM.

Your steps will be create an ISO image of your WIN 7 64 bit professional disk, then before starting the installation of the VM in parallels 6, then change the interface to IDE 0:0, and it will work without a hitch.

This is a common problem for windows 7 users. But don't worry. I have a suggestion for you.
All you have need to do is,download a BOIS update form your manufacturer web site.

Then install it. After that restart your computer and put your CD/DVD in your DVD ROM. Once more restart your computer and press your boot option key. Then choose your boot option menu, now you can choose a driver like hard drive or Ethernet or more over upgrade bay.

Choose any of them and then when your DVD RAM load your operating disk, then press any key from key-board. Then the disk will load and coping temporary files, then you can choose your local disk like C: drive.
And you can install win7.

In most cases, this issue can be caused due to the Windows 7 installation media is corrupted. you can try another DVD or download the ISO file and retry to check the results. You have to check the DVD drive.

If it does not helpful, you can copy the system file to a USB device and boot from USB to setup windows 7 again.

How to create a windows 7 USB drive installation media?

Firstly you should have a 4GB (or more) USB drive. since the steps will clear all your files and data in this USB drive, you need to backup them first.

Step-1:

In windows vista or windows 7, open important command prompt and run the following commands one by one:

  • Disk part
  • List disk

you can recognize your USB drive by its size. For example, it is disk 1.

  • Select disk 1 (Select your USB drive)
  • Clean (Clean it)
  • Create partition primary
  • Select partition 1
  • Active (Mark this partition as an active boot partition. This will enable this USB drive bootable.)
  • Format fs-ntfs quick

Step-2:

After formatting the USB drive, copy all the files in the DVD to the USB drive.

Step-3:

Reboot the computer and set it to boot from USB drive and you can start your installation with it.

Some of such issues are caused due to the hardware aspect, we can also try raise DVD-ROM firmware to contracted down the issue.

This is not at all a hardware problem. How many disk do you have for the Operating system? Do you have all the disks?

You need to install the driver software requires to identify and run the different hardware peripherals on your system.

An interface is created for the hardware to easily meet the software requirements. The entire process requires device drivers for your processor, Motherboard, graphics, audio, display, mouse, keyboards, chipset and all such drivers are an essential element for the system to look after the inputs and output provided using the peripherals.

Please ensure that you are using the right software for the right system.

Thanks.

Hello,

I think you got a serious problem. When windows 7 installation this step is used to select the place that you need to install the windows 7 operation system on your computer hard disk. If you have partitioned you hard disk, then it will list all available partitions here. Or if you didn’t this will show whole hard disk as one item and give you a option to partition your hard disk.

The meaning of not showing the hard disk or the partitions of the hard disk is you don’t have hard disk in your system. This can be happen due to two reasons. The worst case is your hard disk can be out of order. Other one is your hard disk is not connected properly to your system or the power supply is not connected properly to hard disk.

So please re check the connectivity of your hard disk and try again to install the windows 7.

Hello Forbeswarren,

I have seen the configure of your PC. I think your CD/DVD drive or Hard Disk Drive is not working properly. Please open casing of your PC and check the data cable (May be SATA / PATA). Replace the old cables by new. Then try, if the problem would not solve, and then you enter in BIOS and check your hardware configuration. For this, just follow these steps:

  1. Press the power switch and then press F2 / Del
  2. Go to hardware setting and confirm that the HDD and CD/DVD is listed there.
  3. If any drive is missing, you can be sure that the missed drive is not connected properly.

Just find it and accept your step to improve the problem.

Hello ForbesWarren,

Chances are its for your chipset or your drive controllers if it isn’t installed when you get the request for drivers. Try to check on the internet for a copy of drivers, now, if you cannot find the one for Windows 7, find the Windows Vista drivers of the same bit depth, x64 that you are currently installing.

Take out the drivers to a USB flash drive and at hand them to the installation process when it gets around to asking for them. If it doesn't auto-find them, then select browse and point it at your flash-drive (or floppy, or whichever).

This must do the trick.

Or else, you should contact the Microsoft regarding to this issue.

I hope this information helps,

Hello,

I have understood your problem. Sometimes the problem may create for installing upgrade version. Sometimes it may happen when windows is set up after a long time. You set up windows 7 64 bit professional by two ways. However, at first you should enter the windows 7 disk in the cd rom.

Then restart your computer. After restarting you should press any key. Then you will see the setup direction. If you face such problem which you describe above, you should restart your computer again and press F2 or del key. Then you should go to the bios setup or boot setting.

You change the configuration i. e. First boot is CD rom and second boot is Hard disk. After change the configuration you should save the setting and follow the direction. By this way your problem may fix easily. Other method is to enter your disk and setup in the c drive by manually.

After a fresh setup. You will go to your c drive. There you will see a folder named Windows.old.

You should delete this folder.

Thanks!

Hello!

You have a sweet setup there if I may say.

Regarding your issue: The Windows 7 Installer does not have the drivers for your equipment.

You would need to download the Chip sets/drivers for it individually (probably burn it on a disk as well).

The Corsair SSD should already be ok. But just in case do download the driver/firmware as well.

Found this on Google:

Hope this helps!

Sincerely,

Paul Pinalb

You may get relieve from no device driver was found at the time of installing windows 7 by some tricks. First of all think that there may be a problem with your DVD-ROM. So try an external DVD device. Second one you can do is setting up BIOS to default. Hope, these will solve your problem.

Hello Forbeswarren,

I believe the Windows DVD is damaged or corrupted. You should download the ISO image which is free but It's a 3GB file. So if you have a slow internet connection it might take a while to download. Download windows USB boot creator and make a bootable USB device. After that, install the operating system with the bootable USB device instead of the DVD. Good luck and I hope it works for you as well.

Hello,

Installing windows 7 in a new PC should be with no problem but sometimes it appears that he can’t be able to detect or install some drivers, but is not a problem you can solve it by going in the constructor website to get it.

In your case I must ask if this error message appear after installing windows 7 or in the middle of it. So if the installation is done then you can install the driver later because windows 7 have the ability to install similar default drivers for your system if he can’t recognize one of them. If is no that mean you have a problem with the source of installation what get you to the DVD or the copy of windows 7 what you have it or is corrupted or is scratched somehow.

The better idea is to try to have another clean copy of windows and to try again to install it without to install the drivers. Pass the step for Operating system installation and manually install the drivers is better that way.

I hope that my advices will help you to get through your problem.

Hi,

Did the following solution to resolve the issue: Attach your hard drive as USB device to other computer. Check if the computer distinguishes your hard drive. If the computer recognized the hard drive go to Control Panel and select Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Storage and Disk Management. Give the drive a letter and after that do a fast format. Place the hard drive back to your computer, boot up in the external USB optic drive with the Win 7 CD. Select the Browse you can spot the X:(boot) and drive C: now. Choose drive C: and the full installation will finally begin.

Best regards,

Hello,

This is a common problem with windows 7 i have come across this problem so many times. Many of the times the problem is the windows 7 operating system CD. If you download your windows 7 from online this may be the problem also. I think you should try using a next copy of windows 7 CD. If you have a windows 7 32 bit CD try running that one.

Also if that fail you could try install windows XP on your system then try install the windows 7 after.

Hope this Help
