Hello Marie,

This question is really amazing and it makes you think.  Nowadays, all the things are became easier by means of technology. In some point it is very useful most specially in communicating to your loved ones if they are far from you. But there are a lot of negative things that is caused by technology. For example, you have a research or school assignment to be done. All you need to do is go to the internet and just one click, you'll find all the answers without even analyzing or reading it. Nowadays, internet makes us dumb. In fact, there are a lot of evidences now that the digital technology is damaging our long term memory which is the basis of true intelligence. You don't need to think hard, you don't need to explore or analyze because just one click to Google and you'll find all the things that you are looking for.  I recommend you to read the book of Mr. Carr entitled "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" or Jaron Lanier Book entitled "You are not a Gadget". You can get a lot of ideas by reading these books.

Hi Marie weasley:

Memory to be retained is mostly affected by the senses and the emotions you experienced while an event occurred. The more senses are involved in an occurrence, the longer it will stay in your memory. For instance, if you're studying, if you read aloud and later write down what you understood, that would involve at least three of your senses which should allow you to retain the information better compared to just reading the article in front of your computer. While technology makes it all a lot easier for us to get what data we need, it is in how we use it that really affects our memory.

Thank you. Hope this helps.
