Facebook smart phone will be 'released next year'. Will it be accessible to everyone like facebook? And Facebook has hired experts who worked on the iPhone and other smart phones. How can we apply for the opportunity?

Well according to surveys, 32% are actually willing to buy and switch to this Facebook phone once it get released next year. And if it is cheaper than the Iphone then it will be really accessible to everyone, since Facebook is thinking of beating the likes of Apple and Google.
And on the news about hiring experts, yes, Facebook actually recruited former Apple software and hardware engineers to work on this phone. If you're thinking of joining the team then the best way is to apply directly to Facebook's office and state that you are willing to work for that project.

Unfortunately, Facebook’s own Smartphone is a flop. The Facebook phone is really HTC First. On May 2013, HTC First or also known as the Facebook phone was unofficially declared a disaster. This came after AT&T dropped its price to 99 cents from $99. This price drop happened only less than a month after HTC First’s debut and it came relatively quick.

It seems one of the main reasons why the phone flopped is that it is dedicated or focused on Facebook Home. Why would a user want a phone dedicated on Facebook when he can have it or access it on several different phones with superior hardware specs. HTC First lacks the hardware that modern phones have.

They did this probably because they want the phone to be as affordable as possible. Another reason is competition. While AT&T said HTC First was positioned as flagship phone, but in reality, they have several other more appealing flagship phones on the way like the HTC One which came out a month earlier and the Samsung Galaxy S4 which is making its way to stores.

Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One can both access or use Facebook Home.
