I am fetching a problem,about malfunctioning of my external hard disk connected through USB2.0 port to my laptop.Unfortunately the external disk was disconnected from laptop when it was in use without following the normal procedure of USB2.0 port.Now my external hard disk device is not recognised by my laptop.Canany one suggest me on how to solve this problem of malfunction  of external device?

It might be a problem from your laptop ports and for the solution you should check your external drive to any other laptop.

What about when you connect your external Hard drive to other computers – the same connection method. In each case are the required drivers for that system installed. Try to connect with other system to check if the drive is working efficiently. I fully expect any USB drivers are installed, but don't know whether that's how you are connecting. The failure might be with the HDD. Go through your HDD and then update the drivers again. Your need to re-install the drivers for your External HDD again. However, there can be a possibility of connector complications.
