Error running Windows Defender: Code 0x800106ba

I was busy on my job through online, trying to catch up for the deadlines. I was devastated because my computer suddenly hangs up, and for about another minute it hangs up again. In addition it slows down. For doubting that my computer was attacked by a virus, i scanned it using Microsoft Defender. Midway upon scanning, a message displayed an error that reads the services have stopped.

''The program stopped. Computer must be restarted of manually star the service again. (Error code: 0x800106ba).''

Being confused what's happening, i started all over again. i stopped the scanning, removed the tool, then restarted the computer. Upon restarting from the start, scanning again, the same trouble happened again. May someone help me with this.

Hi,

I suspect you have installed on your computer the kinds of software that certainly affects each other. You use the windows defender while maybe you have already installed in your computer software another kind that protects computer from any harmful software or program, on certain a virus one. This might be the Microsoft Security Essentials. Both programs seem to think that each other is harm or might kill the other. For some instances, one will figures out to save a file, while the other one scanned it and tries to eliminate it thus terminating it for thinking it's a harm, which the event's outcome is system crashing.

In case you don't want to uninstall the MSE, you can disable its services. Just go to ''msconfig''. Click the start button then the Run one, after choosing the run option type ''msconfig'' and click Enter or Okay. Choose the tab of services on the service configuration utility. Upon selecting it, unmark the check box then hit apply then okay. After it, close the configuration utility and you have to restart your computer again. I hope this could help you.

First for all run you computer in safe mode and then perform any Anti virus scan in this case and check also for some updates you make earlier may be you updated any program which is now causing problem or you make some changes in your system registry in this case you need to undo this update and your problem will be solved also check that updating for Microsoft Defender is not enable and it is updating automatically this can also be a cause of your problem and to solve it you need to first delete your program and then reinstall it and make sure the auto upgrade is not enable this time.

I hope your problem is solved now and you enjoy reading my comments.
