Hello,

I am a user of Mac Operating System and getting this box saying “EtreCheck” is an application downloaded from the internet. Are you sure you want to open it”? What does it mean? I can’t understand this message exactly. Suggest me to solve this issue.

Thanks.

Hi

This is a security feature of Mac OS X Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks called Gatekeeper. You Can disable this by Using the Procedure below.

Go to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Unlock the System Preferences > On Lower Left Corner Select Anywhere a you will see a message click on Allow from Anywhere.

Go to system Preferences.

Unlock the System Preferences

Now on lower left corner there is gatekeeper options. Click on "anywhere"

Gatekeeper options

Now you will see a message like this. On the message click on "Allow From Anywhere.

Allow From Anywhere

It will fix your issue of this software and you will never receive this message in the future by installing other Applications.
