Hi Harosidd,

As you know, from Google you can find a lot of forums but the chance of getting the right solution depends on where you post your problems. We have so many different forums to configure ESX Server on IBM blade server using SAN devices.

So classifying and posting them on relevant forums is the best way to get your answer step by step.

I can suggest you some good forums, which are listed below:

Hi there user:

Name the blades of number slot. Blade1, Blade2, Blade 3, and so on… You have two (2) choices, Local Storage and SAN Storage, and you asked about SAN Storage.

Fiber Channel SANs are the preferred storage for ESX Server and in the Blade environment, will be VirtualCenter.

Install the VMkernel, the service console, and the VirtualCenter configuration files on the local drive. This is the local IDE drive on each blade. Then you can install the virtual disk files on LUNs in your Storage Area Network devices.

Note: VMotion is not supported for virtual machines hosted via local storage. The virtual machine must reside on a shared SAN.

Thanks for asking here at techyv.com

Best regards,
