That is pretty clear that the server on your network is not responding, and that could be because of some reasons. Some of the possible reasons as to why the server is not responding as are below:

  • The server may be in the idle mode.
  • There is a problem with the server configuration settings.

And therefore you will need to troubleshoot that problem and restore the server back online. The first thing that I will suggest that you do is to restart the server, so that if the problem was the server being idle, the network settings will be refreshed after you restart the server and then it will be back online. The other thing that you will need to do is go to the server and check the configuration settings. In case they have been altered, you will need to change them appropriately.

Those two errors are related to your internet connection. You can get a “server not responding” error when you have a problem with your connection. It can also be related to the current state of the server where you are connecting to. If you are experiencing this problem, first, check your current internet connection. Launch your web browser and visit some websites to see your current connectivity.

If you have a slow internet connection then that’s problem why you are receiving that error. But if your connection seems fine, I guess you should check if the server is down. That’s one of the possible reasons why Lotus Notes is throwing that error. Try connecting at a different time to see if the server is up already. You should also check if your configuration is correct.

Like with an ordinary email client, check if the correct port numbers are specified as well as correct security protocols are selected. Any wrong setting may trigger an incompatible connection.
