Error while opening Pivot Table saved in XML Format

Hello,

I have created a pivot table and saved it in an excel file in xml file format. It creates problems when I open it again giving me an error message like the one- "This pivot table report is not valid". It works again when I refresh those data of the pivot table opening the xml file. Is there any solution of this so that I can open the xml file and make it work without refreshing those data of the pivot table?

Thanks.

Hello there Jason,

Unfortunately, the answer to your question would be – no, you can't avoid refreshing the reports. All reports based on non-OLAP source data that were saved as a Web pages need to be refreshed at your first try to use them in order to work correctly. This is necessary because your fields in the source data contain more than one type of data (i.e. Text and numbers).

The only workaround to avoid refreshing your Pivot reports is to keep your fields clean and with only one type of data.

Best regards,
Drake Vivian
