Hi all,
I am using Microsoft CRM ( customer relationship management) software and trying to merge a record in it. I have CRM 2011 installed on my system. when I try to merge a record in CRM I get an error on my screen. The screenshot of the error is attached below:
Cannot merge selected records as you do not have read access to some attributes in the records being merged.

The user has the security role 'sales manager' with the following permissions under the core record:

The error clearly says that you are facing the lack of permissions. Knowing the type of the records you are trying to merge would be of a great help in solving your problem. However, the first thing you should check is to see if the group of your user has all needed rights. Even though your user have them, in case the group or Business Unit don't there could be a conflict not letting you merge records.
Another thing to look at is if you are trying to merge some of the fields that are not listed as green on your permission list.Â

Keep in mind that there are 3 levels of security in CRM and all 3 should be set up correctly:
– Security based on users – these are the permissions you see in the security role permissions list.
– Security based on records – some records are protected and the system will not allow you to merge them.
-Security based on fields – some fields are protected and the full access is allowed to only the highest roles .
