Error while installing a 64bit Office 2013 Home Premium

Hi Experts,

I tried installing a 64bit Office 2013 Home Premium on my computer but encountered this error message that Office 2010 is existing already, I this that they should coexist both of them. Any ideas how to solve this?

We can’t install the 64-bit version of Office because we found the following 32-bit programs on your PC:

Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010

Please uninstall all 32-bit Office programs, then retry installing 64-bit Office. If you want to install 32-bit Office instead, please run the 32-bit setup.

Please help.

Thanks.

Hi Joelabrame,

You might have been facing this problem because your operating system is not a 64-bit operating system. To make sure, please open Computer and click on System Properties. There you can see whether it is a 32-bit or a 64-bit operating system.

If it is a 64-bit operating system, you have to uninstall the 32-bit software if you want to install the 64-bit one. Same software of different architecture cannot co-exist. For uninstalling the previous program, got to Computer>Uninstall or Change a Program. A window will open showing you a list of software that you have installed in WIndows. From the list, select Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 and uninstall it. Then install Office Home Premium 2013. That will solve your problem

If you feel you need help please contact me.

Regards

This problem arise for conflicting with the version of the installer that you used. That means you can’t mix the 32-bit version and 64-version. To know more as well these solutions visit this Techyv post and get more information.
