Error When Scanning Using McAfee

I get this message everytime I try to scan my computer.

"ERROR HAS OCCURRED. AN UNEXPECTED ERROR HAS OCCURRED DURING YOUR SCAN. CLICK OK TO GO BACK TO THE HOMEPAGE AND TRY AGAIN."

I have been using MCAFEE for a few years already and my current OS is windows 7 64bit. I could not use my account anymore, I don’t know why it asked me to register again. The scan history shows that my latest autoscan was on 10/08/2011. Please tell me what to do.

The error you are getting is due to a confliction. See if you have any other antispyware or malware bytes software installed in your system. These are not letting your McAfee to do the scan.

  • You can't access your account if your subscription is ended with McAfee so it is better if you pay for another 6 months or yearly subscription.
  • Now there are few things that you can try to solve the problem.
  • Remove any software that I said like antispyware and all others like that. After removing see if it runs.
  • If it still fails then reinstall the McAfee by removing it completely by following this guide.
  • After you do this. Restart your computer and run this exe file.
  • hope your error gets resolved after doing these steps.

Hi Aileen,

I think, your antivirus program is not responding correctly. There may be some file missing. That's why it is happening. You can remove it and install again to solve this problem. Thanks.
