Error When Accessing Electronic File

I am encountering an error when trying to open an electronic file on a banking site. The site uses adobe reader to view the electronic statement. I already have the Adobe Reader installed.  Prior to accessing the site I installed another software.  Thinking that this might be causing the error, I uninstalled the software and re-accessed the site.  The error still persists. I have already tried rebooting my pc, even turning it off for a complete refresh but still the error comes up and I can't access the file.  I have tried opening it in another browser (I used firefox at first, then IE) but to no avail.

Well, the application that you installed might have had an effect on the adobe acrobat reader that you have on your computer, and even after you uninstalled that application the problem with adobe acrobat reader was not rectified. I will therefore suggest that you do the following:

  • Go to the control panel and remove the adobe acrobat reader program completely.
  • Obtain the installation setup for the acrobat reader which should be in perfect condition and then install it on the computer again.

That will remove all the registry entries in the adobe reader that might have been affected and therefore make adobe acrobat reader usable again.
