Hi all,

We deselect the user management in our consumer policy. Those users who are included in that setting can still use the option - “new pass phrase user" when trying to encrypt a disk. A  setup wizard appears; and upon completion, error occurred.

PGP Error

Unable to add the user to the disk group.

                                               OK

How can we restore the setting for this? How can we solve the problem?

Please help us!

Before doing this be sure that the user account you are using has administrative rights to avoid receiving any errors. You should also check if the user you are adding is previously included in the setting before you deactivated the user management option of your consumer policy. If you are getting that error when adding a user then this would mean that the user is not included in the previous setting or is possibly a new user.

If this is done using an application, try doing a clean installation of the program to restore its configuration back to default if it’s still possible. Uninstall the program then restart your machine when asked. After booting, check your computer for any possible errors. Use a disk utility application to check the system. Install the program again then check if this fixes the problem. Be sure to add new users to the user management option to prevent this from happening again.
