Error on upgradation of iPhone 4 with 4.2.10 to iOS 5
I have read your question and I understand that you can’t upgrade your iPhone 4 to IOS 5.
You need to check the following steps:
You need to have the latest version of ITunes.
On ITunes click on help then check for updates.
Make sure that you are able to connect to the internet.
Verify that your operating system is up to date.
Check for automatic updates.
If you have any other USB devices connected, you need to disconnect it.
Make sure that your anti-virus and security software is up to date.
You need to make sure that there is available space on your device for the update.
Remove any kind of software on your IPhone that might be taking space, that you don’t need it.
Make sure that you have backed up your iPhone because restore will erase everything.
Restart your computer and try again.
Sometimes you need to do several trials and it will work.
If you need to restore your device.
Connect your device to your computer.
Select your iPhone then click restore and update.
