ERROR UNSUPPORTED TYPE 1630 Data of this type is not supported.

Hi! I tried to install DISM and I get an error message on opening the file 0x8007065e, and an error 1630 saying unsupported date type. I have MSDNAA's win7pro.

Could it be that my download wasn't successful and ruined my files?

Hello Green,

Usually when an error states that the files is not supported during installation it is mostly due to compatibility issues, and therefore the fix to it will be to just get another setup application. First of check your system specs and then download the DISM app that meets those specs.

This is considered a ‘return’ or ‘exchange’ error code as for incompatibility issue. To fix this, download install the below applications.

1. Windows Installer Instmsw.exe for Windows 2000.

2. Microsoft Visio 2002.

And then apply the Windows Installer Update.
