When I right-click on a folder and click the "Search" option I got this error message. Also when I use the Quick Launch bar and click the "Show Desktop" It also show same error. "There was a problem sending the command to the program".

Does anyone here have the same problem as mine? Let me know if you found solution to this problem.

This error usually caused by a setting in Zone alarm .

  • Go to zone alarm settings , there allow the Windows Explorer to have access to  the Internet.
  • But remember there is no need for windows explorer to behave as server though.
  • Now here in settings re-set the again set the Zone Alarm settings to restore defaults and then reconfigure the settings. All the customizations which are there in the  zone alarm will be lost.
  • Now from the overview preferences tab and turn off the load zone alarm at start up( or any similar option).
  • Now what you need to do is to Restart windows in safe mode.
  • Open the folder named Internet logs (C:Windows/logs)
  • Remove everything from this folder and also you need to empty your recycle bin as well
  • Now you have to Restart windows in normal mode.
  • Now restart the application manually

This solution surely works and benefits you.
