Hi,

You got the error message "System Restore did not complete successfully" after installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. Such types of antivirus software cause such error on your system while installing. However, you need not to be afraid. It indicates that the antivirus software was not installed properly on your system. So you need to uninstall the antivirus software first as the antivirus software was not installed successfully on your system. You can get the necessary guidance regarding uninstalling the antivirus from the respective website of the software. Once again try to reinstall the said antivirus. I think this time it will be ok.

I hope you understand it.

If you are trying to restore your computer to an earlier state and you received this error message and you think it is caused by your Kaspersky antivirus, try disabling Kaspersky temporarily. You can disable it by right-clicking on its icon on the system tray. When Kaspersky is already disabled, try restoring your computer again to the same date you selected before and see if it completes successfully.

To restore your computer to an earlier state, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then System Restore. Make sure “Restore my computer to an earlier time” is selected then click Next. Select the date you wish to restore your computer and then select a restore point from that date then click Next. Follow the instructions afterwards to complete the system restore.

You may need to restart your computer to complete the restore. Note that you need a restore point to be able to restore your computer to an earlier state. If a restore point is not available then you cannot restore your computer. And sometimes, just like what I experienced, when you already did a system restore, you cannot repeat it even if it is a different date. I think it depends on the situation.
