Error in starting Elements application

I'm using Windows XP in my computer. I recently installed some softwares in it which are; Elements 4.0 and premiere Elements 2.0. But after installing them, I am continuously getting really annoying error messages saying “application failed to start because pic eng dll is missing. Try reinstalling the application" and which really irritate me when I am using my computer.

Even I reinstalled the software several times but still I’m getting the same messages. I used recourses like Google to find out solutions, but I couldn’t get any solutions.

I would be very grateful, if you give me any nice suggestions on this regards.

Thanks.

Hi,

I think you need to follow the sequence on how you are going to install Elements. Please do the following:

1.Install C++ redistributable 2008 and quick time prior for starting the sequencer. Quick time was only so that certain playback functions work.

2. Start the sequencer and installed adobe premiere as normal. After the installation before leaving monitor mode I run the program to be sure it was working.

3. .After confirming that the program ran continue the packaging process not running the application during the first option where you configure the first time run options.

4. At the step to stream the app I then ran the application here to create the primary feature block.

If you have Windows XP as you say then there should be no problem because both applications are compatible with your computer. Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 and Adobe Premiere Elements 2 both support Windows XP. Again, check the system requirements and verify that your computer meets those requirements. Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 supports Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Professional, Home, or Media Center edition).

It requires 800 MHz Intel Pentium 3 or faster processor, 256 MB RAM, 900 MB free space, Microsoft DirectX 9-compatible 16-bit video card, and 1024 x 768 minimum screen resolution. For Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0, it supports Windows 98, Windows Millennium, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. It requires an Intel Pentium processor, 128 MB RAM, 150 MB free space, and color monitor.

Try updating your operating system to the latest Service Pack. Download Windows XP Service Pack 3. This is the latest and last Service Pack update for Microsoft Windows XP.
