Hello friends,

Has anyone come across this? I am attempting to install Snapdrive 6.4 on Windows 2008 R2 .

I am met with – “Error 1335. The cabinet file 'data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.”. Here is the screenshot:

This error shows up and I think this could point to a problem with the network or a damaged CD. I doubt whether I could get past this. Do you know what I can do?

Thanks.

The following are the possible causes and remedies to that problem:

  • The CD you are using may be damaged as a result of scratches and dust accumulation. You will need to use a soft piece of cloth to clean the CD gently and then after that try running the installation again.
  • Insufficient memory settings on your computer may also be a possible cause to the issues you are getting. You will need to check the requirements of installation for Snapdrive and see if they may be fine or not.
  • The installation might be as well be disrupted by the antivirus software you may be having on your computer. So just turn off the antivirus for some time as you are installing Snapdrive and when the installation is done re-enable it.
