Error shown while booting KDE

The problem started after I updated about a year ago.
Now, whenever I boot KDE, I get an error,
which looks like this:

Fetch Job Error – Korganizer Reminder Daemon: Unknown error. (Unable to tetch item from backend)

I run Kubuntu 11.10 (KDE 4.7.4). This is so frustrating that it takes me back to my days using Windows ME, which had loads of pop ups on startup.

Any advice will be helpful. Thank you.

This error is mainly caused because of the Kmail that you have setup in your system. Either if it is local or remote setup the OS was unable to fetch the data from there. It is a bug in Kubuntu.

You can try this resolution in order to solve this issue.

If your kmail is using the local folder then try this way.

Just check what the path of your local folders is

by checking akonadiconsole then click on configure and then Local folder. Note down the path of that. Go to the location of that path and check if there is any empty folder with cur, tmp. If you see these folder try to delete these folders and reboot your system.

This will work I guess.
