Hi all,
I recently installed the program CS6 on my iMac. During startup, I get the following error.
Unknown exception
Â
After Effects warning: Unknown Exception.
If you click OK, the program runs just as it should and works fine, but I am concerned that something is not right. It seems to happen more when 'resources' is loaded. I have done a reinstallation, but the problem persists.
Does any of you know what is going on?

Also, I have CS5 and CS5.5 installed on my machine, could this be causing a conflict?

The possibility of this error is unknown but there is a recovery solution for this error. You can actually try this let us know whether it is working or not. Actually it worked for others who tried and it is a working fix. So first go to the locations mentioned below and try to delete the complete after effects folder this will work.
~user/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/
<drive>/Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/
Once after deleting re-launch the Adobe after effects it will work.
try this way and let us know whether it is working or not. If it is not working we try out different ways to fix it.

Hello,
You can try the following method and see if this method works for you.
Go to the following location. (~user/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/). This is the after effects preferences directory and more it to the Recycle Bin. Now move the folder to the desktop and try to launch After Effects. I hope it launches successfully and recreates a folder.
If the problem still persists, there might be plug-in that might be interfering with the application.

This problem can be solved using one of the following methods:
1. Delete ~user/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/ folder. Then launch after effect. After  effects will  launch successfully  and recreate the folder.
2. Use Disk Utility in Utilities to repair permissions and repair disk if necessary. Click Verify Disk and Verify Disk Permissions then click Repair if it is not grayed out.
3. Install  After Effects CS6 (11.0.2) update. Here is the link to download
