Hi experts,

I just installed on my laptop Windows server 2012 and I have this error when I want to launch the server. Somehow it seems like DOTNET4 missing and I expected that a fresh install of Windows will be complete. Any solution for this error ? Why I have this error ?

Thank you !

I think you are upgrading your server to Windows Server 2012. If this is the case, here are the facts about upgrading to Windows Server 2012. If you are running Windows Server 2008 [Standard or Enterprise] Service Pack 2, you can upgrade to Windows Server 2012 [Standard or Datacenter]. If you have Windows Server 2008 Datacenter Service Pack 2, you can upgrade to Windows Server 2012 Datacenter.

If you are using Windows Web Server 2008, you can upgrade to Windows Server 2012 Standard. If you have Windows Server 2008 R2 [Standard or Enterprise] Service Pack 1, you can upgrade to Windows Server 2012 [Standard or Datacenter]. If you have Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter Service Pack 1, you can upgrade to Windows Server 2012 Datacenter.

If you are running Windows Web Server 2008 R2, you can upgrade to Windows Server 2012 Standard. With that error you have mentioning about Microsoft .NET Framework 4, there is really no specific requirement for this component in the installation. If you downloaded your installer for Windows Server 2012, make sure it is a legit copy.

Anyway, if you don’t have that version of .NET Framework, just download it from Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Web Installer.
