Hello,

I installed VM player version 3.1. All the installation process went well. Unfortunately, when I’m trying to run VMWare, I received this error. On checking the log file, I final line of the log file stated that ‘Failed to compile module vmmon!

Please help me on this! I need to fix this issue immediately as I have deadlines to meet.

Error: “Unable to build kernel module See log file /tmp/vmware-root/setup-3759.log for details.

Error:

“Unable to build kernel module.

See log file /tmp/vmware-root/setup-3759.log for details.”

Thanks,

Tracy

Hi dear,

For the solution of this problem simply open up a shell prompt type in the following. So please install the kernel –devel gcc gcc-c++. Because these packages with some dependencies together should be all you need to must be installed the VMware. If you will still have the same problem then go to install fedora 14 on VMware 7.0 Windows 7 Ultimate x64, but be sure that the live CD stuck at boot, nothing is happening.

I know it is not the same topic but if you could help anybody it will be great.
