My computer keeps on displaying an error message when I’m trying to execute a plug-in file called play_vst.dll in programs such as Sibelius 5 or sequencers. I don’t understand why this error keeps popping up neither do I know what’s causing this. Due to this, I am now unable to run this plug-in in the programs that I’m frequently using. My computer’s currently running Windows Vista Home Premium. I’m thankful to those who can help.

This error may be caused by the version not being compatible. You have to direct the Play VST plug-in to be installed on your VST Plugins folder during the PLAY software. By default, the play_vst dll should go to the following location on the C Drive C:\Program Files\Common Files\East West\VST plugins\Play_VST.dll. Make sure to move the 'Play_VST.dll' file into your host sequencer's own VST plugins folder or define the location when installing the software. For example if you are using Sonar as your sequencer, you will most likely want to move the 'Play_VST.dll' file into: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins. Please remember to restart your Host sequencer program after the transfer or have it rescan your plug-in directories.
