Hello Pro,

I got an error message while I am opening an attached file in ArchiCAD. I checked the system requirements before installing the ArchiCAD. In the system requirements everything is perfect to this version. I am not able to find the cause for this error. Is any problem with the data? Whether I need to check the data validity? Pro’s give me some guidance.

To make sure you are using an up-to-date version, download the latest version from Graphisoft ArchiCAD 17. It supports both Windows and Mac operating systems. For Windows users, it supports Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 all x64. For Mac users, it supports Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, 10.7 Lion, 10.8 Mountain Lion, and 10.9 Mavericks.

For Windows, ArchiCAD 17 no longer support x86 [32-bit] operating systems. For Mac, ArchiCAD will only work on case insensitive file system and ArchiCAD 17 will be the last ArchiCAD version to support Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. You also need to install QuickTime 7 or higher and Java 1.7.0 or higher. These two components will be installed automatically upon installing ArchiCAD 17 if they are not yet installed on your computer.

Just in case, you can download the latest version of QuickTime from QuickTime 7 Download. For the Java Runtime, download the latest version from Java SE Runtime Environment 7. Once all are installed, try opening the file again and see if it works. It is possible that you are using an old version of either Java Runtime Environment or QuickTime that’s why the attached file won’t open.
