This error was encountered by some Apple printers in MAC OS. It is because of incorrect driver or other problem due to version may be incompatible which makes this error appear. To repair this problem.

You must  log-in as  an Administrator, then, go to Open Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/), and a box appears, At the prompt type: cd /var/spool/,then, Press Return, and Type: sudo mkdir cups, again, press Return,Then, type your admin user password when prompted, then press again Return, Type: sudo chown daemon:admin cups, Press Return again, Type: sudo chmod 700 cups, Press Return, then, Quit Terminal, and lastly, Restart the computer.

  • After that go to the prompt and then type: cd /var/spool/, and then press Return.
  • Next you will need to type: sudo mkdir cups, and then press Return.
  • And then type your admin user password when prompted, then press Return.
  • And then type: sudo chown daemon:admin cups, and then press Return.
  • After that type: sudo chmod 700 cups, and then press Return, and then quit Terminal.
