I installed Start8 version 1.15 so that I could return the Start button on my Windows 8. At the end of the installation I ran into the error message that I have attached here today. Whoever knows the solution please share your ideas.
Error message:
On post install, Line 63: attempt to compare nil with number stack traceback: 1:[On Post install] Line 63 in main chunk
Start8 restores the usual Start button which was not made available in Windows 8 because it was replaced with the Metro Start screen for design purposes. Using Start8, it will help you go back to the usual Start button. Since the problem started in the post installation of the program, check again if the trial period has not been exhausted if you are using the trial version.
Remember that when downloading and installing the trial version, you only have 30 days to use it and after that you can either uninstall it from your system or purchase it for $5. If the program is not expired, check if you didn’t made any system updates in the past few days.
If the system made an update, restore your computer to the period before the update was made. Next, try if you can still uninstall Start8 if it was partially installed. If you can’t, just download the latest version from Download Start8 from Stardock and then install it to replace and fix the previous installation.
