My problem is on .NET Framework 4. I do not know why it suddenly stopped working.  I already cleaned up, updated and tried re-installing, but it doesn't work.  I am running on Windows XP and I notice that I keep getting the error (code 0x80070643) during installation.  What does this means? Somebody please help me on this error. Thank you.

Dear Friend

      This issue is related with Microsoft windows installer

      This issue arises due to

  1. It generally occurs when system try’s to install windows update and windows installer is interrupted.
  2. Due to user account not having this permission.
  3. A damaged setting exists in windows registry.
  4. Old version of windows installer.
  5. Corrupt .NET installation or Corrupt MSI software update registration.

      Solution

  1. First Check that antivirus program is not blocking the installation.
  2. Check your user account has the permission to do so. By going to Control Panel-->User Accounts.
  3. User registry mechanic to resolve the registry issue if exists that may also cause this problem.
  4. Install latest version of windows installer from internet.
  5. Fix installation corrupt issue through below link
