Error message while running a reputation scan

While running a reputation scan (T– just on the C drive), I got an error message in few seconds, which was:

“Trust Level, Prevalence, Resource Usage, and Stability reported for files may not be accurate because Norton Insight cannot connect to the Symantec Server.  Please ensure that your computer is connected to the Internet for up-to-date results.”

It is mentionable that I have an internet connection. Now I need a solution to this problem.

Please provide me with a solution if there is any.

I should know this one because I am also using another Norton Product. I have also tried using the Reputation Scan once without connecting my computer to the internet and I also received the same error. Your Norton or Symantec product should have no problem doing this scan if the machine is connected to the internet and you did not change the network configuration of the application.

The network configuration of the application can be found in Settings, Network, Network Security Settings, and then Proxy Server. You should never change the proxy configuration of the program if you are not using a proxy. You should not touch this part of the application’s settings.

Try checking these settings in your Norton program if you have accidentally entered something to it or configured it to use something. This is probably what’s causing the problem with the Reputation Scan. If there seems to be no problem with the settings of your program, try uninstalling it then check your computer for any possible errors. Next, install the application again. I’m sure this time the Reputation Scan will work.
