Error message while installing MediaPortal TV Server / Client

Operating Systems: Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 64 bit ; Windows Installer 3.1 and plenty of Hard drive space.

I downloaded the core Media Portal software directly from the Media Portal website.

Checked in for the requirements, that it requires Microsoft SQL server, which I already have installed on my machine.
Once I initiated the TV server installation file, it came up with an error message

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) is not installed.
It is a requirement for MediaPortal TV Server / Client.
Installation will be canceled.

Do you want to get more information about it?

I ensured that my PC has Microsoft visual C++ Redistributable package installed.

Am I doing something wrong? Or do I need to install some other application?

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) installs runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries required to run applications developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have Visual C++ 2005 installed. This package installs runtime components of C Runtime (CRT), Standard C++, ATL, MFC, OpenMP and MSDIA libraries.

For libraries that support side-by-side deployment model (CRT, SCL, ATL, MFC, OpenMP) they are installed into the native assembly cache, also called WinSxS folder, on versions of Windows operating system that support side-by-side assemblies. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.
