Hi experts,

When I try to fix with telstra turbo card manager, I get the following error message – 'a connection to the remote computer could not be established. You might need to change the network settings for this connection…'

Then I setup AVG (free edition) and also rebooted the connection of the internet, but found same error. Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave,

The error might be faced due to the reason that you might be using the wrong version of the software for the card. You need to get it checked. Also try to reboot your computer once and then give it a try. Your issue must be resolved. 🙂

Hello Dave,

If it worked well previously, then a very quick solution to it will be to run System Restore in order to get back to the previous status when you did not have that issue.

In the event that system does not help, you will need to try the following:

  • First, you will need to check if you can be able to establish the VPN using different connections except the connection through the UMTS card.
  • You will need to reset the PPTP as well as the L2TP WAN miniport with running the following commands one by one in an elevated command prompt:

Netcfg -u MS_L2TP

Netcfg -u MS_PPTP

Netcfg -l %windir%infnetrast.inf -c p -i MS_PPTP

Netcfg -l %windir%infnetrast.inf -c p -i MS_L2TP

  •  After that you can reboot the computer and see how it works.

Regards,

Carl
