I have recently installed Microsoft Dynamics CRM client. Whenever I am trying to start Microsoft Outlook I get the error message “There is a problem trying to communicate with the server” and on clicking OK, it shows, “An error occurred loading Microsoft CRM functionality”. What should I do to solve this?

Run the Environmental diagnostic wizard. It will show an error:
“Cannot communicate with CRM server”.

This issue is most likely to occur after installing the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Microsoft Office Outlook. Causes may include:

1. The IP address of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server you must have used and not the DNS name during your Outlook installation.

2. The .srf mapping of the MSCRMServices service might be missing in your Microsoft Dynamics CRM client interface.

3. You could be trying to access from restricted access mode.

4. Your VPN connection may not have been configured to send your domain name with the user id while connecting to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server.

These issues can be resolved using one of the following methods:

Method 1:
Start Microsoft Edge.
Click Internet Options from Tools, and then Security.
Click Sites from Local intranet settings, and then go to Advanced.
Type the IP address of the Microsoft CRM server in “Add this Web site to the zone” box in the Trusted Sites list, and click OK when done.
Restart Microsoft Outlook and check.

Method 2:
In Microsoft CRM page click Settings and Business Unit Settings, then Users. Double-click open the user details who is facing this error.
In the bottom of the Microsoft CRM License Information dialog box, clear the Restricted Access Mode check box.
Click Apply and Save. Close the page and restart.

Method 3:
Go to Control Panel, and then Network Connections.
Right click on the VPN connection, and then left click Properties.
Mark Include Windows logon domain in the Options tab, and click on OK.
Disconnect and refresh the VPN connection.
Login afresh using the login credentials as well as the CRM domain name.
