It seems that the registry settings are not up to the mark.

1.       Try regedit.exe from the RUN.

2.       Delete all occurrences of OFFICE from the registry.

3.       Once deleted, you will delete all the files that were installed/copied by the installer to the disk drive in your computer.

4.       Now get a fresh Installer. Run Setup and then assign the same destination location where the files have to be installed.

5.       The installer will again install/ copy files to the directory and update the registry. If some error happens with the registry saying that a copy already exists, then you need to recheck the registry that something still exists there.

If you are installing one of the applications of Microsoft Office when this error appeared, reinstall the entire Microsoft Office software. To uninstall Microsoft Office, click Start, Control Panel then select Add or Remove Programs. Browse and select Microsoft Office then select Remove or Uninstall. Follow the succeeding instructions then restart your computer. Next, install Microsoft Office. When installing the package, make sure the application that encountered the problem is selected.

Once Microsoft Office is installed, run the Office application you want to use earlier then check if it is working. On the other hand, if you don’t want to reinstall Microsoft Office, try removing the damaged application only. To do this, click Start, Control Panel then Add or Remove Programs. Scroll down then select Microsoft Office. Click Change. Select “Add or Remove Features” then click Continue.

Select the application you want to remove, click on the dropdown list, and then select Not Available. Click Continue then follow the succeeding instructions. See image.

Once removed, repeat the same steps then change Not Available to “Run from My Computer” then click Continue. Wait until it is complete then try starting the application again.
