While installing AVG 2012 for windows 7 I received an error saying that it had failed to install the product. The further explanation in the error message was that driver installation had failed and it gave an error code of 0xE0010057. Anyone have any information on what this error is or how I can get around it?

Blame for this error code stays in:

StandardAction(0xC0070517): The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsAVG 2012. The installation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator.

Some solutions of the error you found while installing AVG, are : 1. AVG installer may detect incompatible and conflicting applications. Using more than one AV protection at the same time may cause this error. If you do so, you are recommended to remove all or other except AVG.

2. Again you should remove the failed installation using the AVG Remover. Then reboot the computer when AVG has been removed and finally you should download the latest setup file for AVG.

More option of error may be: if you use Download Accelerator, you should disable it while downloading AVG setup file.

If you are using a content filtering service or software, the error may occur. In this case, you should add the websites that follow in as trusted websites for the web filtering software: www.avg.com, akamai.avg.cz, update.avg.cz and download.avg.com, and try to install again.

If you are not using both of the above mentioned, you should remove temporary Internet files of your computer using CCleaner or, manually.
