Hi,

I setup roaming profiles in my company  to log onto any workstation on the network and work.

And I followed all of the instructions and copied the local profiles to a shared folder on the server.

The problem is that ,when my users log on they get an error message. The error message says, that windows cannot locate the server copy of the roaming profile and is attempting to log on with a local profile.

What can be the cause of this problem and how can i get the users to log onto their roaming profile?

Thanks!

User Environment Alert: Error logging into roaming profile

Dear Ashley Davis,

The Windows is suggesting that the network path is missing. And asking you to verify your network path if it is correct and there is no problem with the connection with your computer. After investigating with the above suggestions and found no problems, check also if you are using NetBios over TCP/IP when connecting to your network along with a roaming user profile.

Resolving this problem, involves installation of the new Microsoft Windows XP service pack or waiting for 30 seconds up to one hour before logging on to your Windows profile. This enables the system to fully loads the sufficient security and credential details needed for certain programs and applications.

I hope this helps.

Smile,
Toffy
