I have a Windows Vista Home Premium PC. While I am trying to install the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, I end up with an error message: "Error loading AcroFill.api!! Adobe Acrobat Reader has encountered a problem and must be shut down. We apologize for the inconvenience." Please help me resolve the issue. Thank you.

Hi Mildred!

This is a very common error Acrobat Reader has. It usually shows up if your running Windows XP along with it. So, the simple solution to your problem is to reinstall the Adobe software. If a dialog box appears that's asking you to replace all your files, click Yes to all.

If it doesn't work maybe its a corrupted exe. Try to locate C:windowssystem32dllcache OR C:windowsServicePackFilesi386 (If you cannot find the file download it online). Copy paste the exe file to C:windowssystem32 then install it again.

Hope this helps!

That error is probably related to the installer you have downloaded. If an error appeared when installing Adobe Acrobat Reader, check that the version you are installing is compatible with your computer. Check the system requirements and verify that your computer meets those requirements. Since the problem is with Adobe Acrobat Reader, just download the installer again.

Download Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. It supports Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 including Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 (64-bit only), and Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit only). It requires 1.5 GHz or faster processor, 1 GB RAM, 380 MB free space, and 1024 x 768 minimum screen resolution.

Supported browsers include Windows Internet Explorer 11 and Mozilla Firefox ESR edition. Please read and check other optional downloads before hitting the “Install now” button to avoid downloading other bundled software. Alternatively, you can use Foxit PDF Reader. It supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. It is compatible with Microsoft Office 2007 and higher.
