I opened the Management Reporter Process Service window in my MS Dynamics GP and got the error below. I have login to my Windows using my domain account and yet I keep getting the same faulty error message. What can I do to fix it?

Management Reporter

Connection attempt failed. User does not have appropriate permissions to connect to the server. Contact your system administrator.

For the following error (Connection attempt failed. User does not have appropriate permissions to connect to the server. Contact your system administrator), you need to add their user.

Add user > enter domain or username.
Without login to Windows using their domain account, they can not launch.

For more detail information you can check this website.

Hope this will help you.

Thank you and have a good day.

Hi,

Here is the answer to your query,

When you start Microsoft Management Reporter you receive following error messages,

"Connection attempt failed. The user does not have appropriate permissions to connect to the server. Contact your system administrator."

To solve this problem click OK to this message. You also need to go to Event Viewer to get additional information on the error. In Event Viewer click Windows Logs and then click Application. Under the Source column look for Management Reporter Report Designer or Management Reporter Services.

The cause is,

The user trying to run MR has not been set up as a user in MR and therefore cannot connect.

The resolution is,

Se tup the user receiving the connection error within MR.

Run MR as a user that is setup as an MR administrator.
In MR click Go and then click Security.
Add the user who is receiving the connection error.
Note If it is not known what user(s) exist in MR you can run 'select from SecurityUser' against the Management Reporter database to find out.

Thanks,

Hi,

This error shows if the server is unable to connect to the database, and also if the version of the database you are using is incorrect.

Ask your email server for your server, port and SSL usage to see if these are standard. Also, see if you have enough security permissions to institute a connection to the server, you must also disable your firewall and antivirus software when configuring. One thing you can do is check your server address and try again.

If you want to troubleshoot your connection to Management Reporter, click "Ok" on the pop-up error message, then click TEST CONNECTION  to get an additional error message.  Also, go to Event Viewer to get more information on the error.

In the Event Viewer, click the Windows log button, and then click Application.  Under the Source column, find the Management Reporter Report Designer or Management Reporter Services.
