When using Internet Explorer 8 and when the Windows XP machine wants to join to our SQL Server Reporting Services which is on Windows Server 2008 R2, we get this error message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". We also receive the following error messages in the System tray to Log on the Windows Server 2008 R2 box:

Source: SChannel, Event: 36874 – An TLS 1.0 connection request was received from a remote client application, but none of the cipher suites supported by the client application are supported by the server. The SSL connection request has failed.

Source: SChannel, Event: 36888 – The following fatal alert was generated: 40. The internal error state is 1205.

The Internet Explorer 9, Mozilla Firefox 4 and Google Chrome 12 all are working very well when connecting to the server. In Windows XP machine, I have disabled TLS 1.0 and SSL 3.0, but the same things happen. And also, I tried KB968730 to no luck. Please give me a solution. Thanks in advance.

First of all you need to make sure that JavaScript is working with IE8

You can follow the steps below to enable JavaScript in your browser:

1 – Go to tool menu and then click internet options.

2 – Choose security tab and then click on internet zone.

3 – Click on custom level you will find a box with security settings – internet zone title.

4 – Go to scripting à active scripting and choose enable.

·         If the problem still exists after following the mentioned steps then you must make sure that you run the IE as an administrator especially if you had windows 7 or Vista.
