Error in Installing Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio

Hello techyv,

I tried to install Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express on my PC but during installation, I received this error message:

The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 29506.

I also tried to install the software with administrative permissions but of no use. Please advice me as to what should I do, in order to sort out this error and to finish the installation successfully.

The issue might be regarding Admin rights. Try to install it using the Admin account so you have full permissions. Or you can also try fixing it but using the Run command prompt. Just launch the MSI and install it from there. Just click the Start button and then click Run. Then type the command prompt to reach the files of the SQL installer.

 Look for the MSI file, launch it, and install it. Another way is to go to the Control Panel and choose User Accounts. When you get there, choose Change Security Settings. Make sure you uncheck the Use User Account Control. Then you can reboot your computer and start installing again.
