I was trying to install Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 on my Windows XP machine and the SMS Provider on the site server but it always failed to continue and always ends with the fatal error as shown below. How can I continue with the installation? Help please!

  1. The problem starts when you try to install the SP1 version on the Windows XP that is SP2 i.e Service pack 2.
  2. You have to download the SP2 version of the microsoft system centre configuration manager.
  3. After the download is completed run the installation and it will all be ok.
  4. There are also some requirements that you need to fulfill before you proceed to install the configuration manager. Go to this link to check if you have all the required components installed in your system.

If during the error it generates a log file, then paste a screenshot of that log file so that I can have a better understanding of the problem that you are facing and provide more ways to solve the problem if the above mentioned steps won't help you.
