Hello guru, when I try to open MSTS and when I quit the program, the follow error message would appear and it says that error in reading train database file occurs.

Does anyone know the meaning of this message and any suggestion to solve it? Thanks in advance.

Hi there Anthony J Larson,

Looks like some of your trainsets are missing. You gave us way too little information about your system to tell you what and where to delete or install, but I will try to give you the directions that should solve your problem.

Check to see what trainsets you're missing and try to find and download the missing trainsets from the internet. Once you've stored them to your computer, find the path of the missing files in the route documentation and open that path in your explorer. Copy and paste the trainsets there and it should fix the problem.

Best regards,
Drake Vivian

Looking at your screenshot, obviously, you are using an operating system earlier than Windows XP and that’s bad news if you want to install and play MSTS or Microsoft Train Simulator. I already have it since last year and I’m quite used to playing the simulator. Your role in the game is a train driver and you need to bring your train to the other end at a given time.

To install and play Microsoft Train Simulator, you need to be using Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1. It requires a very small amount of RAM, only 128 MB and 1.5 GB of hard drive space. You can play it on at least a Pentium 4 1.8 GHz processor.

If you want to play it, please replace your operating system to any of the compatible versions mentioned above.
