Hello Jafet,

In the event that you have an older version of Palm Desktop that was not uninstalled from your PC and then the latest version of  Palm Desktop you might have installed could have "over-installed" and therefore causing the expreprt.exe error. Other 3rd party products for instance Amicus Attorney can lead to the issue that you are getting.

You will therefore need to reinstall Palm Desktop using the steps below should solve the problem;

  • First, you will need to add a test item to your handhelds's Expense application.
  • And then you will have to perform a HotSync operation once the installation is complete.  Do not open Palm Desktop after that.
  • You will need to uninstall Palm Desktop using Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
  • Do not restart your computer, and then reinstall Palm Desktop using the typical/default installation choices.

Regards,

Carl

You may receive the message “Expreprt.exe module cannot be found” when opening Palm Desktop after fixing “HotSync Error: An application failed to respond to a HotSync notification. Please check the Palm Desktop for details”. To fix the problem, open Notepad then go to “File” then select “Save As” to save the blank document. In the “Save As” window, navigate to “C:\Program Files\Palm”.

In “Save as type”, select “All Files” then in “File name”, type without quotes “expreprt.exe” then click “Save” to save the file. Close Notepad then restart Palm Desktop and see if it works.
