I was setting up Microsoft Dynamics AX then I got this error message, see below.  Please bear with me since I am a newbie here and I am not familiar with the error message.  The environment is Win 2008 Standard Server and SQL Express.

Any advice on what to do next?

I can’t understand what the log is referring to.

Microsoft Dynamics AX Setup

An unexpected exception occurred during Setup.

See the log file C:ProgramDataMicrosoftDynamics AXDynamics AX Setup Logs2010-08-26-11-54-33 Dynamics Setup Logs.txt for details.

This is a very generic error, and cannot be further investigated with the required log file.

What I suggest is that open the MY computer, and than c drive, and go to the complete path provided in this line: ProgramDataMicrosoftDynamics AXDynamics AX Setup Logs2010-08-26-11-54-33 Dynamics Setup Logs.txt.

Open this file "Dynamics Setup Logs.txt" in word pad and try to locate the error. Do compare the errors with the details provided in the site: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa497072(v=ax.10).aspx and check the possible causes mentioned by comparing the log OR post the log file on this forum for further investigation.

Hi there user:

You stated that you’re in a process of setting-up. Just click the button Ok and then set-up again. This time, you will need to state the steps how you set it up because by far, this is commonly concluded as human error. If you set up or install you don’t just click the next button or just check the box that appears during the set-up. If you hit the inappropriate settings, then there would be trouble to the program, there could be quite lapping of data, the next will be the error log.

I will really appreciate it if you post again.
